Correen Herbert

Specialist Tutor / Senior Trainer and Consultant

Prior to joining the team Correen gained valuable transferable skills from a variety of sectors including hospitality, teaching children in mainstream education (including  those with additional needs) and supporting teenagers whose challenging behaviours meant education within an alternative provision, whilst completing a degree in Youth and Community work (BA Hons).

A change in career led Correen into general, psychiatric & social healthcare, where she has built over a decade (12 years) of clinical experience. Correen has experience working in a range of services from PICU (psychiatric intensive care unit), learning disability, brain injury, personality disorder, forensic rehab, CAMHS (Children, adolescence mental health services) and general medical wards. She has gained extensive knowledge within the NHS and private healthcare.

Throughout her career, Correen has delivered many mandatory subjects including Basic life support (BLS), Security awareness, Search and ligature, Safety Interventions (CPI) and, Prevention and management of violence and aggression (PMVA).

Correen was also PMVA Hospital lead for a large independent Mental health provider (over 3 years) and in that role organised and facilitated training, supervised and mentored both instructors and Ward champions.

Correen also has the following qualifications:

  • Teaching and assessing (AET level 3 award in education and training)
  • PMVA Tutor and advisor
  • Level 3 diploma in Pre-school practice
  • Emergency first aid at work
  • Level 2 mental health first aid
  • Level 2 understanding behaviours that challenge
  • Positive behaviour support
