Correen Herbert

Specialist Tutor / Senior Trainer and Consultant

Correen holds a Degree (BA HONS) in youth and community work. She has experience working in health and social care including supporting people in the community as well as in in-patient psychiatry settings. in various roles she has worked supporting people with complex mental health needs who also presents with behaviours that challenge. She ahs also worked with kids and adults with special needs.

Her experience whilst working in in-patient psychiatry settings includes working in, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Learning Disability (LD), Acute services, Specialist Personality Disorder and Rehabilitation service.

Whilst working in previous roles, Coreen provided training in different mandatory subjects including, Basic Life Support (BLS), Security Awareness’/Search, Fire Awareness and Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA). She was also a PMVA Hospital lead for a large independent Mental Health provider (over 3 years) and in that role she organised and facilitated training, supervised and mentored both instructors and PMVA Ward Champions.

Correen also has the following qualifications:

  • Teaching and Assessing (AET level 3 award in education and training)
  • PMVA Tutor & Adviser
  • Level 3 diploma in pre school practice
  • Emergency first aid at work
  • Level 2 mental health first aid
  • Level 2 understanding behaviour that challenges
